In the sequence I will be analyses the mise-en-scene and cinematography which represent the gender.
As we can see a shallow focus CU shot of a female character face this emphasize the character , by her blond hair this represent as American female and by her accent this indicated she come from US, by looking at her custom it conform stereotype of women, which show her figure and the colour of her costume is green. Green is describe someone who is inexperienced, jealous, or sick. In America, green is a slang term for money, among other things. Several colloquialisms have derived from these meanings, such as “green around the gills”, a phrase used to describe a person who looks ill. This indicated the audience this character Olive is jealous of Chuck ( The main character in Pushing Daises.)
The next shot it uses a deep focus pan mid shot introduces to the audience is set in some kind of coffee shop (which is the pie shop). Then a OS mid shot showing both characters. The male character is wearing a brown suite, this represent maturity for this character. Using shot reveres shot showing their conversation to create tension and the anger from Olive to speed the conversation and to show she is angry.
The iconography is used in this sequence were the cup, coffee pot and sugar, to introduce the audience about the setting.
The lighting in this sequence is a artificial lighting, to show is happen at night time to create atmosphere, and to indicate the sadness inside Olive mind.

Week 1
The name of this TV drama is ‘Pushing Daises’.
Pushing Daisies is an American Television dramedy creates by Bryan Fuller, is about a pie-maker with the power to bring the dead back to life.
In this sequence, it begins with a diegetic sound of a male character, from the sound the audiences notice is a male character. The language his speaking were Japanese, but we can still little bit American accent form the character, but this is to indicated this is a provincial worker.
During this sequence it include a non-diegetic sound playing softly with the dialogue, using string musical instrument to crate spooked tension on the audiences. At the background we can hear a crowed of people in this sequence, to indicated to the audiences many people are involve in this event and they are amused what they see.
In this clip female character is represent the same as the male character showing their both in the equal state, both can speak Japanese, and it can be provincial as the male character, this is subverted the stereotype of female.
